What we don't do

Work we don't take on, and why that keeps things clear

  • Commercial groundworks and industrial surfacing are outside our patch, so if you're building a warehouse or retail unit, we'll point you to a firm that handles that scale.
  • Listed buildings and conservation-area schemes need specialist consent and materials, and because we stick to modern residential builds, you'll need a heritage contractor for those.
  • We don't offer architectural drawings, planning applications or building regulations sign-off, so you'll need to have your plans approved before we price the groundworks and drainage.
  • Anything outside a forty-mile radius of our base is a job we'll turn down, because we can't get a crew and materials to site on time without pushing your programme back.

Services on offer

The groundworks and site work we carry out on residential developments

Site clearance and preparation

We clear vegetation and old hardstanding, then strip topsoil and level the plot so your build starts on ground that has been graded and compacted to the engineer's specification.

Foundations and footings

Trench fill, strip foundations and piled caps go in to the depths and widths shown on your approved drawings, with concrete tested and recorded so the building control sign-off is straightforward.

Drainage and below-ground services

Foul and surface water runs are laid to falls, with inspection chambers, connections and soakaways installed, then pressure-tested and mapped before anything is covered over.

Driveways, paths and hardstanding

Your access road, drive and parking areas are built up in layers, from the sub-base right through to block paving or tarmac, and kerbs and edgings are set to hold the finished surface in place.

Boundary walls and fencing

We build the retaining walls, garden walls and close-board fencing that mark your plot edges, sized to suit the ground levels and finished to match the rest of the scheme.

Patios, decking bases and external finishes

Once the shell is up, we lay the concrete bases and sub-frames for decking, form patios in the paving you have chosen, and put in the steps and level changes around the house.

How it runs

How a job with us moves from first enquiry to finished ground

Step 1

Get in touch and talk it through

Ring or email with the address, the stage you're at and what you need doing. We'll ask about access, services in the ground and your target start date so we know whether we can help.

Step 2

Site visit and firm price

One of us walks the plot with you, checks levels and ground conditions, and goes through the drawings. You get a written price with the scope set out in plain terms, usually within a week.

Step 3

Programme and start date

Once you accept, we agree a start date that fits your build sequence and confirm what we need on site. You'll know the order of works and roughly how long each stage will take.

Step 4

Work on site and handover

Our crew carries out the work to the drawings, keeps the site tidy and flags anything unexpected early. At the end we walk the job with you, and you get the test results and as-built drainage records.
